I still remember the fist time I heard about it, when they said on TV “This transportation is going to improve your lifestyle and bla bla bla” or almost funny when they also stated “now our city is going to be more civic...the MIO is yours, Cali a new beat.” Thus, I think back about those bureaucratic promises, I say to myself “I knew it.” Therefore, since my personal viewpoint, I´m going to mention three arguments in order to set out that traveling by MIO bus is actually an awful and unforgettable trip to me at everyday of my life.
First at all, if you expect to be on time at any place by MIO bus, forget it! When you arrive at any station, please, be ready! since you´ll wait for really long time just to arrive home. Thus, your trip by that bus might take an “eternity.” Imagine! Many time consumed due to a local reform stated by the caleña mayoralty which almost forces us to get into an inefficient means of transport like that.
Secondly, once you have gotten into this bus, you´ll realize what a push is. People should travel completely “squeezed” so, they should push each other in order to fit inside it.
I remember once when a woman with a baby shouted at some passengers: “you´re gonna injure my baby by pushing me like this.” That was horrible, the poor woman with her son were actually suffering inside this transportation. I still can´t understand why a person should suffer into a bus if his/her only intention is to arrive home. Those situations have made me realize that our local government doesn´t care about what´s going on with its citizen since its only purpose is to get citizens´ money without offering them an actual benefit as they state in MIO´s advertising. By the way, about that woman with her baby, well, another young woman gave her away her place and told her: “please, sit down here, otherwise they´re gonna crush your baby”
My last appreciation about MIO is related to the desperation that some people feel into this transportation. They behave like “wild animals” just to get a place inside this bus. I still remember once when a man told me while he pushed me: “hey! That place is mine!” so, I replied to him: “ok, don’t worry, it´s totally yours. I´m not going to discuss for anything which is not yours and mine either” However that might be since they are tired of working the whole day and their only hope is to get an available place to rest a bit.
I couldn’t deny the fact that some people have good experiences by travelling into MIO. Maybe, all my experiences are due to my lifestyle since I´m a hard working person so I should get into any transportation very early in the morning or at about five or six pm in the evening. That´s what is called in Colombia “hora pico.” At this time the transportation tends to be complicated. Thus, if someone has a different appreciation about this means of transport, below this text is the right place to express it. By the way, I swear not to be a MIO user all my life!
Your text should be more developed in terms of your really feelings to this thing, sometimes I had the impression you were very angry with the people but not with the bus in itself. I don't know where you want to direct your rage to.I did not feel a strong emotion in this trip of you which is the intention of this assignment. my suggestion would be you add the emotions that rule you when you have those pissed off moments.
ReplyDeleteVivi. I didn't noticed any error in your text. on other hand I agree with you, I don't like MIO service, I think it is the slowest transportation we have.
ReplyDeleteVivi I think you are not talking about one of your trips. I would like to read about your first experience in this Bus. I think that what you are doing is describing the MIO service, I think if you get some ajustments could work. see you
Iam agree with you point of view, however when I read the title I expected something different, for instance one of your experiences.
ReplyDeleteYou simply define what the Mio is: a suffering
ReplyDeletethanks for your comments
ReplyDeleteBy the way, my friend Frank: I am not angry with people but with our local government, to be honest. Caleña people are not guilty; they are just victim of the situation caused by this means of transport.
