The Global Forest Coalition, a coalition of more than 50 NGOs and Indigenous Peoples Organizations from all over the world, expresses its strong concern for the well-being of Sandra Viviana Cuellar Gallego, a young environmental activist who disappeared on February 17, near Puente del Comercio, in the exit towards Palmira, in Cali, Colombia.
Sandra worked for Censat Agua Viva/Friends of the Earth-Colombia, our Latin American focal point, in 2009 and early 2010.
We demand the Colombian authorities to take urgent measures to find our colleague as soon as possible, and to protect her life. Below is a letter in Spanish we sent to the Colombian authorities this morning.
We are following this worrying incident closely and we express our solidarity with Sandra’s family, friends and colleagues in Colombia.

Chairperson
